The boring but important bit
Privacy
ImpsHub is run by one Lincoln fan, not a data company. Here is exactly what we keep, why, and how to have it removed. Plain English, no legal maze.
What we store
If you sign up to write for the site, we keep:
- Your email address, so we can send you sign-in links. That is the whole login system: no passwords.
- Your profile: display name, and anything you choose to add (photo, favourite player, first game, bio). All of it except the display name is optional.
- What you publish: posts, comments, reactions and any polls you create, under your display name.
- Your prediction game entries: your table and score predictions, points and mini league memberships, under your display name (that is how the leaderboards work).
The site owner can see the account details above (email, display name, sign-up and sign-in dates, and your email choices) in order to run the site: answering messages, moderating, and sending only the emails you asked for. Nobody else can, and none of it is sold or shared.
Whether or not you have an account:
- Poll votes are tied to a random cookie in your browser, not to your name. We could not tell you who voted for what, and neither can poll creators.
- Messages you send through the contact form go to the site owner's inbox so we can reply.
- Advertising bookings keep the business details the advertiser gives us, and we count how often an ad is shown and clicked. No cookie is involved in either count.
Why we store it
To run your account, publish your writing, keep the games fair (one vote per browser), reply when you write to us, and report honestly to advertisers. That is the whole list. The only visit counting is described below, and it runs only if you say yes to it. There is no tracking across other websites and no advertising profile of you.
We never sell your details
Your details are never sold, rented or swapped. The only people who touch them are the services that keep the site running: our hosting, the service that delivers our email, and Stripe when an advertiser pays for a booking. Each gets the minimum it needs to do its job.
How we count visits
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, and it runs only if you say yes to the small banner on your first visit. Until you choose, and whenever you choose no, nothing from Google loads on this site at all: no script, no cookies, no requests.
If you accept, Google sets cookies (their names start with _ga) so it can tell returning browsers apart, and we see page counts and rough visitor numbers, never your name or a profile of you. We do not use it for advertising, and the owner's own status page is left out of the numbers. Your choice is remembered in your browser; to change your mind, clear this site's data and the banner asks again.
Cookies
This site sets at most two cookies of its own, both first-party (Google Analytics cookies are separate and only exist if you accept the banner above):
- A sign-in cookie when you log in, so you stay signed in for up to 30 days. It is locked away from scripts and sent only to this site.
- An anonymous voting cookie the first time you vote in a poll or the score predictor, so you get one vote per poll. It is a random value that says nothing about who you are.
Your light/dark theme choice stays in your own browser and never reaches us. There are no advertising cookies; the only other cookies possible are the Google Analytics ones described above, and only after your yes.
Marketing emails
Sign-up and both prediction games offer one optional, unticked box: “Send me ImpsHub news and offers by email.” Tick it and we may occasionally email you site news and reader offers; leave it and we never will. Nothing on the site requires it: signing up, writing, and playing the games all work exactly the same without it. We record your choice and when you made it, and you can change it any time from your account page. Saying no (or nothing) is never held against you.
Match reminder emails
Separately from marketing, the score predictor offers an optional “Email me before each match” nudge: a reminder on the morning of matchday if your prediction is not in, and a note if a fixture you can predict gets moved. It is off until you ask for it, every email carries a one-click stop link that works without signing in, and you can change the setting any time on your account page.
Deleting your details
Want your account gone? Send us a message through the contact form from the email address you signed up with and we will delete your account and profile. Tell us if you also want your published posts and comments taken down, and we will remove those too.

Anything unclear, or anything here you do not like? Use the contact form and it goes straight to the site owner.
